Tony and Jason Get The Job Done

After a few months of discussion and planning Tony and Jason from the Triton Oceanic team arrived in Dumaguete to hang out with Matt and Mike; and to do a bit of diving

Tony arrived early, pretended to do some work in Manila and quickly made his way to the beach, to squeeze in a week of diving on his Sentinel before Jason arrived. “What’s the blue flashing light mean?”, and “You look like a bloody christmas tree” were heard a few times on the dive boat as Matt and Mike tried to figure out what all the fancy electronics on Tony’s rebreather was trying to tell him. It seems the high humidity and ambient temperature were sending some of Tony’s lights flashing when they weren’t necessarily supposed to be - but the threesome still were quite happy diving in a group even with Mike and Matt on their much more basic but equally capable Pelagians

Once Jason arrived things hit Open Circuit mode and we started working on the scenario dives, drilled ascents, and of course some theory to do with Helium, as well as all the standard physiology stuff

Some health issues struck at times which kept Tony on the toilet and Jason out of the water; but they pushed on and were able to enjoy 2 consecutive days of great trimix diving at Apo island; even with a manta ray on the last one!

Under Matt and Mike’s guidance the guys are now fully capable with three deco/stages bottles, which puts them in a good position for some of the deeper projects lined up for next year; now we just have to get all the logistics sorted

Jason was of course ably assisted by his wife during his time in Dumaguete; a favourite story being the one she told about getting hubby “caught” in the zipper of his drysuit underwear - not a great one for the dinner table!

Talk has already started about wreck diving next year, Ormoc bay, Subic, the Kongo, so keep your eyes on here for the latest developments
