Speedy back in Dumaguete

In the military they say handles are earned not given(or something like that); and over the past few years Mike Shutello has more than earned his reputation as “Speedy”. And as technical diving can be likened in many ways to military training it seems more than apt.

Having spent a total of more than 6 months in Puerto Galera and Dumaguete tech diving with Matt, even the local staff, and resort housekeeping know Mike as Speedy. Mike Shutello technical CCR diver Dumaguete Philippines Asia This year, Speedy’s trip was a refresher, to get him back up to ‘speed’ on some of the advanced trimix skills and dive planning. All those tanks came as a bit of a shock after a while out of the water. But soon Mike was cruising around like a pro again, and remembering the real reason he enjoys Asia and particularly tech diving.

A few days at Apo enjoying the walls and big fish reminded Speedy why he started this...and he’s already booking his next trip.
