Latest Successful Students

During September another willing candidate joined the ever growing group of tech students getting certified in Dumaguete. Having joined Mike in Truk last year Anton van Langelaar had had a year to study up and prepare himself for the rigours of Matt's course. Arriving with his daughter Karien, Anton wisely took a day to settle in and then was busy for 7 days completing the Enhanced Skills and Advanced Nitrox/ Decompression procedures courses combined together.

Already a veteran to a backplate and wing system Anton took quickly to the new double tank setup and was doing backwards finning from day 1, which particularly impressed Matt. Anton had also done a lot of study at home andkept the class rolling with interesting questions on all the topics he had read about. After covering academics on dive planning, team awareness, gas management and physiology, and skills sessions with every possible failure know to man Anton was ready for his deco dives on the House Reef and in Dauin North.

After a few days of rest Anton then took on the challenge of Apo Island tech style and joined Matt on decompression dives to Chapel and Mamsa Point, where they didn't find the giant nudibranch, but still had a great time enjoying all of Apos wonders. Congratulations to Anton for a job well done
