Great CCR dives at Apo Island

To round off 2008 in style Roberto Battello came to Dumaguete along with his HammerMeg CCR. Coming from the East coast of Canada showed some serious commitment from Roberto; and to carry his rebreather all that way to Asia as well!

Roberto warmed up at DuCoMi, the famous pier dive; and then Matt joined him at Apo for 2 days of excellent CCR diving on the walls of Chapel and the Sanctuary. They both really enjoyed diving together as a pair, without the annoyance of any bubbles, and got to see some of the lesser visited ares of the deep walls with large fan corals. A few large tuna and trevally turned up to see what these two weird creatures were up to, and the caves and overhangs made for some interesting topography.

Unfortunately Roberto had to head home on the 1st of Jan so didn't get to enjoy as much diving as he would have liked, but he's vowed to return to make the most of it; and possibly explore some wrecks with Matt.

Thanks for the visit Roberto and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
