Graham Macklin makes the grade
After having to delay a 2008 trip Graham Macklin finally made it to Dumaguete on Negros in April this year and got busy with his tech diving certs. Graham had hoped to do a bit of pre-training on doubles in the UK before heading out to Asia for the trip; but weather got the better of him - no surprises there - and it was baptism by fire once he arrived in the Philippines.

Having limited dive experience meant Graham was a bit overrun by all the tanks and clips at first[see Ash’s article below!] But after persevering and spending plenty of time practising his technical diving skills Graham gradually found his feet and and started to enjoy technical dives for fun.
Having booked himself 10 days allowed the tricky parts of the courses to become familiar and ‘easy’ and by the end of the trip Graham wished he had booked 2 weeks.
As a familiar face in Asia for work Graham has sworn to return to the Philippines and continue his education, and hopefully get a number of technical wreck dives in on his next trip - we look forward to seeing you soon...
